Each year many young students leave their homes across Africa to pursue higher education at many of the area’s fine colleges and universities. From dealing with the region’s changing four seasons to managing the culture shock, these young men and women face many challenges. In some instances; families will use their entire life savings to give a child a chance at a better education in America! At PAAPO a 501c 3 nonprofit organization representing African professionals in the Pittsburgh Area; many of our members have similar experiences. We understand the challenges and know the financial commitment our families made to help us get off to a better start than generations before us. Our members believe in giving back. As part of our Annual Scholarship Drive this year, we will give back to a few of the most deserving of our young brothers and sisters from Africa. We want to officially invite you to join us in our effort to raise funds toward this cause. Your gift will make a difference. The financial donations a few students receive will go towards the cost of such meaningful items as books, meals, etc.… This will also help ensure continued diversity growth in our region. The donations can be financial or material towards our annual fundraising auction that will take place on March 21, 2020.
