struggling to get here and finding out that the struggle has just started. Tuition, food, Winter clothing, books, hygiene products, extremely devalued money from home if any, etc. Not being allowed to work. How do you survive

We are a 501c 3 nonprofit organization representing African professionals in the Pittsburgh Area.
The purpose of our fundraising gala is to help fund our scholarship program. This event will consist of a African food, African music, silent auction, and live auction, live entertainment. The party and part of the scholarship is funded by participating members & families of PAAPO. Our scholarship is need-based and we intend for it to assist African student(s) with books, meals, and etc… We are currently posting our scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, Carnegie Mellon University, Robert Morris University, and Community College of Allegheny County and at several other colleges in our region. Since 2015 we have awarded more than 25 scholarships across the Pittsburgh area.
